Well what started on a freezing Feb. day way back in 2007 (and yes I can say it was freezing cause I was there in Springfield, IL). The only thing that was warm that day were the corndogs at the Cozy Dog, who invented the corndog on a stick (http://www.cozydogdrivein.com/ that plug should get me a couple on my next trip up right there right). While personally I'm very glad that Mr. Obama won, I'm not going to go on and on about that because it's all been said already.
What I would like to talk about is how pissed off I am at John McCain right now. It's because he went out on Tuesday night and delivered this unbelievable speech. It was classy and intelligent and everything his damn campaign should have been. What should have been the great debates and election of my and my classmates generations was instead a period of mistakes. I just feel sorry for McCain for not trusting his gut or being true to himself. I reckon it's true that he had to embrace the radical right in order to get the nomination but as soon as he had done that he let the RNC take over and because of that he suffered.
None the less I praise Senator McCain for his life of service that is probably second to none in this great nation. Maybe he can return to the path of "The Maverick" that he used to be until about 2 years ago. If so, watch out world cause America will be back.

So......
Everybodies fave VPCILF (Vice President Candidate I'd Like to !@#$) was in St. Louis last night dropping the puck at the Blues game. Manny Legace (our goalie) skated onto the ice and apparently clipped the edge of the red carpet placed outfit for her. Well Manny was injured and tried to play and gave up 2 goals in his 20 minutes of work before being replaced by Ben Bishop (Welcome to the NHL btw Benny!!!). Because of this ridiculous appearance by Palin, we got our goalie hurt, and my fantasy NHL team is gonna take a beating this week. From http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=388513
"Palin's appearance might have been indirectly costly to the Blues as goalie Manny Legace left the game after one period with a strained left hip flexor - an injury that occurred when he slipped on the carpet placed on the ice for Palin and her family to walk on.
Just before the ceremony, Legace was the first player onto the ice for St. Louis. A team official pointed to the carpet, but as Legace stepped onto it with his skate, he fell, then gingerly made his way to the crease.
After that, the team official rolled up enough of the carpet so other players wouldn't have to step on it.
"I felt a pull right away," Legace said. "I was hoping it would just go away."
Thanks a lot you guys :-P It should also be noted that Palin appeared at opening night for the Philadelphia Flyers. The Flyers record at this point is 2-3-3
Now it's come out this week that the RNC is spending $150,000 on clothes for the Palin clan. I am calling for the Republican National Committee to make a similar donation to the 14 fund (the Blues charitable wing). Comeon guys you are throwing around money, how about spending that money for some good, instead of just spending it on fancy duds. I keep thinking about lipstick on a pig comments but I'll be good tonight........or atleast for now.
And by the way, Mr. Checketts I know I'm not candidate for vice president, but if you can give Palin and her brood free tickets how about hooking me up for my breaks this school year (I won't need luxury boxes, or even club seats.........just something in the building dude). I actually own a Blues sweater that I paid for and didn't have given to me :-) What do ya say???

September 25th
I know this is supposed to be for now a politcal blog, but today I'm taking part in a fast in support of the Episcopal Church and the Millenium Development goals. The best way to explain it all to you who are interested is to direct you to Episcopalians for Global Reconciliation Website. That website is http://www.e4gr.org/ But the essential point is that the United States has failed to live up to the promises it has made to our brothers and sisters in Africa. I've always believed that if a man (or woman) doesn't live up to the promises they have made then they have no worth. It's time for us all to redeem for what we have forgotten. The time has come for us to recognize that God sees no difference between American and African, or Asian, or Arab or anybody. We are all his children, and thus we are one global family. Shouldn't we all start to treat each other as family then. Love and Peace y'all

Hello all
Hi there everbody. I'm Johnny, 29 from St. Louis and I'm writing this blog because.....well for it's a requirement for my Special topics in Journalism class focusing on the campaign season. I will from time to time write on other topics but for the rest of this semester (or until November) it will be focused on politics so here we go.
So it's been 3 weeks now since McCain has made his annoucement as Sarah Palin as his running mate. I'm still waiting for the punchline here people. This has to be a bloody joke because it's such a ridiculous idea. After making such a huge deal about the lack of experience Obama has, you go and pick Palin??? The one person who has even less experience than Barack!!! It bring up so many questions here. Do Republicans think all women are stupid??? How many of the supports of Senator Clinton, who when their gal had a chance were so proud to be Democrats have no switched over simply because Palin is a female as well?? Now I realize that Palin is most definitely a nod towards the extremist wing of the republican party. In that respect someone who thinks like she does is a great statement to the party faithful, who in general seem to care about the unborn than those who are alreadly on this earth. But she is such a polar oppostite of Senator Clinton no "democratic woman" could possibly vote for a McCain Palin ticket. And it's clear that being the vetters for the Republican party must be the easiest job on the planet. Maybe I can get that gig after I graduate from here this spring. Well that's about it for tonight. Love and Peace (or Else)
